# El Salvador is a great example of Bitcoin adoption

Jack Kruse is an American neurosurgeon known for his 'controversial' approach to health and wellness.

He gained prominence after a personal health issue in 2007, which led him to explore various aspects of biology, particularly circadian biology and the effects of [light on health](https://www.jermwarfare.com/nisa-khan-on-why-led-lighting-is-harmful-to-all-life/).

It was [his conversation](https://youtu.be/SiBFtwbyv44?si=4Zegpeed7evzBLxh&ref=jermwarfare.com) on Danny Jones’s podcast that piqued my interest, so I invited him onto mine.

He chatted to me, primarily, about three important points:

- mass surveillance
- economic freedom
- decentralisation

Because he lives in El Salvador, he explained the relativity of safety as well as Bitcoin's transformative role in the country. Although, I kinda get the feeling he is overplaying the latter but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
