So, the official story goes as follows.
Charlie Kirk (founder of Turning Point USA) was assassinated by Tyler Robinson, who fired a single .30-06 round from a Mauser 98 bolt-action rifle from around 128 to 180 metres away, hitting Charlie in the neck.

I go hunting from time to time, and I can tell you that a .30-06 round—almost identical to my .308—will absolutely leave an exit wound at 180 metres.
Unless it hits a bone.
And even then, it will often shatter it and go right through.
Plus, a buck's body is much thicker than a human neck. There are multiple organs and muscles and, of course, bones. I've never shot a buck without finding an exit wound.
Ever.

I was going to share a photo from a shot I actually took, but some people get really upset by that kind of image.
Which further proves my point about the official line.
So what actually happened?
I don't know.
All I know is that I'm not persuaded by the footage of the shooting.
Laurent Guyénot writes at his Substack, Radbod's Lament, and is the author of From Yahweh to Zion, including a few pieces on Charlie's assassination.

As you've probably guessed, he makes the case that Charlie was indeed killed, and that Israel was behind it.
Or more precisely, a tight network of pro-Israel operatives had him killed because he was turning against Israel.
In any case, Charlie Kirk was slowing turning, and he had been turning faster in the last few months. He had been the most pro-Israel MAGA influencer, together with Ben Shapiro, drawing millions of young people behind him. But his followers and others had been noticing that he was starting to ask embarrassing questions for Israel, about October 7th, about the “ethnic cleansing” in Gaza (he used the term, and “not lightly”), about the Epstein files, and about Israeli censorship in the media.
As it turns out—and as Turning Point spokesman Andrew Kolvet confirmed—Charlie told Candace Owens he needed a break from pushing the pro-Israel line.
“I have no choice but to leave the pro-Israel cause,” said Charlie Kirk before his assassination, newly confirmed messages reveal.
Leaked text messages sent by the influential Conservative commentator, days before his assassination, reveal that the conservative activist was preparing to distance himself from Israel due to what he described as donor “bullying” — a revelation that has intensified suspicions about the true motives behind his killing.
