Norman Finkelstein is a Jewish American political scientist known for his outspoken views on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and especially Israel's military actions in Gaza. In the early 2000s, he published The Holocaust Industry which led to him being banned from entering Israel for a decade. (The Israeli government, of course, denies its because of his book.)

His central argument is that the memory of the Holocaust has been exploited for political and financial gain, such as justifying Israeli policies in Palestinian territories and extracting compensation from European countries.
