Ron Barmby is a Professional Engineer with both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in engineering. His four-decade career in energy geoscience took him to over 40 countries across five continents, and included the key technical disciplines also used in climate science and Net Zero CO2 technology.
He has authored two books challenging mainstream climate nonsense:
- Sunlight on Climate Change: A Heretic's Guide to Global Climate Hysteria
- Sunset on Net Zero: A Heretic's Guide to the Futile CO2 Target

What historians will definitely wonder about in future centuries is how deeply flawed logic, obscured by shrewd and unrelenting propaganda, actually enabled a coalition of powerful special interests to convince nearly everyone in the world that CO2 from human industry was a dangerous, planet-destroying toxin. It will be remembered as the greatest mass delusion in the history of the world - that CO2, the life of plants, was considered for a time to be a deadly poison.
– Richard Lindzen, Atmospheric physicist
"Heretic, not a denier"
Ron is careful about the language he uses, and it matters. On his website he draws a sharp distinction:
A heretic does not accept an idea when proof of it does not exist; a denier does not accept an idea even when proof of it does exist. A heretic stands on principles, a denier stands on prejudices.
— Ron Barmby
That distinction is the backbone of both his books.
