Then he became the man in charge of American health policy.

And now, in 2026, he is blaming the unvaccinated.

Where I stand

RFK has been on my podcast twice, both times before he joined the Trump administration. I respected his work back then. I see him differently now. He is a cog in the state machinery, turning with it.

Or maybe he was always turning with it.

I don't know.

1. I am not trying to make him look good or bad. I will grant him the benefit of the doubt and let the pattern speak.
2. I am largely a terrain guy. I don't really accept the contagion narrative, and I am not convinced measles is caused by a virus. Roman Bystrianyk's digging through official data is part of what got me there. So when I quote "cases" below, remember that cases are a germ theory metric. A rising count only means something if you accept the counting frame. Which I don't, for the most part.

Here's the timeline

Well, there was a trigger, but it makes no sense at all, which leaves the whole thing a bit of a mystery.

To be clear, this isn't a bitchfest. There's no anger, no accusations, nothing sensational. Just an honest recollection of what happened.

Or what I think happened.

I understand why.

It's about protection.

Wrapped in good intentions.

Yet years later, what has it left behind?

Maybe not for me, but for others it may have stopped them questioning the doctor, introducing themselves at a social gathering, putting their name forward for a promotion, or simply saying "hello" to the stranger next to them in the queue.

It's quite sad, if you think about it.

The default assumption is that people are bad and can't be trusted, that they might have ulterior motives.

We live in a low-trust world, and that's unfortunate.

My toddler loves strangers. His innocence leads him to make friends with everybody, and to show them his yellow truck.

At some point, I'm probably going to have to stop all that, and teach him not to talk to strangers.

Anyway, back to The Offspring booting their drummer.

You probably know the version taught in schools. James Earl Ray — a supposed white supremacist — checked into a rooming house across from the Lorraine Motel in Memphis. He supposedly fired one shot from a shared bathroom window, killed King on the balcony, then fled and was caught two months later.

He pled guilty; case closed.

Well, no.

Jeremy says that story falls apart the moment you look at a map.

The conversation was calm, philosophical and — perhaps surprisingly to his critics — free of invective. Here's what he said, plus the historical backdrop that makes it more interesting.

The 90-old Harvard-trained psychiatrist, often called "the conscience of psychiatry", joined me for another conversation. I can't remember when, exactly, but it was around 2021 when he first joined me on my podcast. (I will try to find that conversation and upload it to my website, soon.)

Despite recovering from a stroke he suffered just last month (August), his mind remains as sharp as ever, even if his typing and time-sequencing are still finding their way back. His personal trainer, a former kickboxer, now has him working the pads to rebuild the left-sided weakness the stroke left behind. When I asked him who the greatest boxer of all time was, he didn't hesitate: Mike Tyson, with Muhammad Ali a close second.

If you know Peter's work, that answer makes perfect sense. He's been throwing punches at his own profession his entire life.

Brothers Fred and Richard have appeared on my podcast several times over the years, so I thought it was time for another catch-up.

As someone who grew up in the punk-rock scene, I was deeply disappointed by how many people who claimed to represent punk values bent over backwards to appease the establishment during the Covid years.

What happened to the rock music industry? What happened to the rebellious attitude? Why did they become American idiots who raged for the machine? Did the Covid propaganda finally break the middle finger of the punk scene?

A handful of people refused to go along with it, including Pete Parada and John Joseph. Pete was the drummer for The Offspring before the band sacked him for refusing the jab. John was a vocalist with the Cro-Mags.

Andrew runs "The Crucible" on YouTube, a live debate and commentary show in which he engages in what he describes as "bloodsport debate".

By trade, Andrew is a robotics engineer, which is to say he's a blue-collar guy who actually works with his hands and fixes things for a living. He's an Orthodox Christian, a husband, and a father, and he stumbled into online debates completely by accident.

My podcast episode with him was recorded in 2023, before he appeared on Joe Rogan and became big. But his views haven't changed.

What am I talking about?

Well, as it happens, back in 2009, the World Health Organisation (WHO) quietly changed the definition of pandemic.

Except that, well, nah, it's no longer like that.

I asked forensic scientist David Klatzow why.

Universities get government subsidies for every research paper their academics publish. So the pressure to produce papers is relentless. David experienced this firsthand: after his first year as a lecturer, the dean sent him a message noting he hadn't published anything. Same message in year two. By year three, David told the dean he found it intolerable, and he left.

The problem isn't just that the pressure exists. It's what the pressure does to people.

• Academics chop single papers into tiny fragments, called the "least publishable unit", to squeeze out three or four publications instead of one decent one.
• Some cheat outright, because their careers depend on volume, not quality.
• Nobody repeats previous experiments to verify them, because there's no kudos in replication. It costs money, time, and equipment, and it doesn't get you tenure.

In 2005, John Ioannidis published a paper titled "Why Most Published Research Findings Are False", which has become one of the most downloaded and cited papers in modern science. His argument, basically, is that most published research findings are, well, false.

Put another way, almost all peer-reviewed science is garbage.

Yet we're told to "trust the science"?

Nope.

Why should I "trust the science"?

Then the drug companies got involved, funding research and conclusions favouring, well, the drug companies. The entire Covid scam is one such example, with loads of "peer-reviewed" papers on SARS-CoV-2, COVID-19, and mRNA jabs, all of which turned out to be pharmaceutical fear porn to make billions of dollars.

All of it is junk science.

Why the journals are broken

David identified two structural problems that make academic journals inherently untrustworthy:

1. Advertising money. Journals publish material that pleases their advertisers. If a journal publishes something at odds with a major advertising client, the client threatens to withdraw. Journal editors answer to shareholders, not to truth.
2. Corrupt peer review. Editors send papers to reviewers likely to give a favourable review, because they need to publish, not reject.
3. This isn't a point made by David, but I will add that there are also financial, political, and cultural agendas going on. Big Pharma makes a lot of money from its products, and many politicians are bought.

It is simply no longer possible to believe much of the clinical research that is published, or to rely on the judgment of trusted physicians or authoritative medical guidelines. I take no pleasure in this conclusion, which I reached slowly and reluctantly over my two decades as an editor of The New England Journal of Medicine.

The moral of the story

David's conclusion, and I think he's right, is this:

50% or more of what you learn at university is wrong by the time you get out. The only way to remedy that is to inculcate a culture of learning, of questioning, of going back to basics. And that is not being done. It's regurgitation.

I dropped out of varsity.

David walked away from his lecturing post rather than play the publish-or-perish game.

We both turned out fine.

Maybe the real education, as Mark Twain said, starts after you've forgotten everything you learned at school.

Trump was (and still is) middle management.

He was their most useful tool: a celebrity president with huge pop culture status, who signed whatever was put in front of him and then high-fived himself, telling the world how great he was.

That does not make him innocent.

Middle management in a criminal enterprise still goes to prison.

But let me be precise about the chain of command, because giving Trump either too much or too little blame both serve to obscure the deeper machinery.

Here are 10 reasons why Trump is just as guilty as Fauci.
