I am neither anti-Trump nor pro-Trump (because why would I be either?), but the cult-like fervour of Trump supporters is a strange thing — so much so, in fact, that this very article I'm writing will undoubtedly result in me receiving silly labels like "Trump Derangement Syndrome".
But, whatever.
It's about truth, not ideology.
More specifically, I constantly see and hear comments defending Trump's Covid response, whether it be saving humanity from FEMA camps or draining the swamp and so on.
It's the pied piper effect.

He was their most useful tool: a celebrity president with huge pop culture status, who signed whatever was put in front of him and then high-fived himself, telling the world how great he was.
That does not make him innocent.
Middle management in a criminal enterprise still goes to prison.
But let me be precise about the chain of command, because giving Trump either too much or too little blame both serve to obscure the deeper machinery.
Here are 10 reasons why Trump is just as guilty as Fauci.
